PHILOMOBILE

Yunus Tuncel is the founder and director of Philomobile. He received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the New School for Social Research. He is the author of Towards a Genealogy of Spectacle (Eye Corner Press, 2011) and Agon in Nietzsche (Marquette University Press, 2013) and the editor of Nietzsche and Transhumanism (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2017). His most recent work, Emotion in Sports, came out with Routledge in 2019. His areas of research include art, competition, culture, myth, music, power, spectacle and sports. He is interested in the fusion of art and philosophy in various cultural formations. Philomobile is a peripatetic project that explores philosophy and culture on location in which participants study cultural formations in places where they emerged.

Elephant trunk travel was founded by Connie Kirker and Lynn Biondi as a way to share their experience and first-hand knowledge of the beautiful countries, culture, and people of Southeast Asia.
With particular emphasis on UNESCO heritage sites and hands-on experience with local culture, Connie and Lynn will accompany you to share destinations they have experienced while living in the region – boutique hotels, restaurants, cooking and art classes, traditional markets, and more.
The Elephant Trunk Travel experience includes a visit to a social enterprise or NGO (non-government organization) in each location where we can ‘Do a little good’ while we ‘have a lot of fun’.
You will also share Connie and Lynn’s personal passions for travel photography, painting and history. You will carry your own luggage but carry it into charming inns that reflect the beautiful architecture and heritage of the region you visit, and best of all provide great value for your travel dollars.
